Beginner's Guide to the Star Wars Expanded Universe

Legends in the eyes of the fans, these are the best the Star wars Universe has to offer....and they are worth ignoring the new movies over. I've arranged the list by starting with what I consider to be the best/most important titles in the EU, to provide a suggested reading order for beginners. I've followed this list with prequels, minor titles, and weaker entries in the EU. I have left off some truly awful series, such as the "Black Shield Crises" Trilogy, and a few series we own no titles of, that I consider of minimal importance.
