Pride and Prejudice is set in rural England in the early 19th century, and follows the Bennet family, which includes five "country" "poor" beautiful sisters who must navigate love and society. Because they have no male heir, Mrs. Bennet is anxious to see all her daughters married. At a ball, the wealthy Charles Bingley takes an immediate interest in the eldest Bennet daughter, the eldest Bennett, Jane. The encounter between his friend Darcy and Elizabeth is less cordial when he slights her during the a dance. The more Darcy and Elizabeth encounter each other their opinions and feelings for one another change and create a satisfying ending.
