Mitford reminds me of Andy Griffith’s Mayberry but with cell phones and Andy as a minister. Mishaps occur when Father Tim suddenly acquires a large dog and must care for a fifth-grade boy, both of which are new experiences for him. And his begrudging attempts to follow his doctor’s advice to lose weight also create humor. The narrator is best in his Foghorn Leghorn tone – don’t cha know – for one of the characters. Best for those who don’t mind Scripture tossed in with their fiction. Middle-aged and older folks can definitely relate to Father Tim.
