Not exactly a body acceptance story, but almost? More of a gaining self esteem and dealing with complicated family sort of story, with a dash of gaining a slightly healthier attitude about size/body image. I found the main character quite relatable, but I worry that she still models an unhealthy attitude to weight/health at the end of the book even after a lot of personal growth.
This was a wonderful story of a girl trying to fit society's standards and feeling more comfortable in her own skin. Incredibly relatable.
i can totally relate
Good book!
This was a cute story about an overweight girl trying to find her place in life while dealing with a dysfunctional family & mean girls at school. With her aunt's wedding in two months, Ann vows to lose 45 pounds to fit into a cute bridesmaids dress. Her quest to lose the weight helps her to find her self-esteem, and the people in her life who truly matter.
