So cute! I love the illustrations - so many details to spend time looking through - and books about being yourself are always a win.

Do people view you as different or quirky? Do you see yourself as different or quirky? It’s our differences that make us so special. And you should know that you are very special and that it’s okay to be you.

In a world full of busy dogs doing busy things one dog finds herself standing out. Many dogs are in suits and some in stripes and uniforms. They are swimmers, sailors, soldiers or play a violin. This one dog who stands out always finds herself doing the opposite while trying to fit in. When she realizes she is not like the others, this makes her sad and she decides to leave the one place she calls home. In the new city, she finds a lot of dogs that are just like her. One day she met a dog that was an odd dog out and he reminded her she should be proud of who she is. What do you think she did after she realized its okay to be an odd dog out?

Author Rob Biddulph has created a visually colorful story that shares with young readers how being different is a good thing. Written is fun rhyme beginners will find this story fun and easy to read. There is plenty to see and lots of active pups which makes this story perfect for family reading time and a school read-a-loud. Kids can pick out their favorite dogs and also share what makes them different from everyone else.
