Okay movie. Kind of boring in places. The subtitle doesn't make any sense, in the context of the film because, guess what, Maleficent isn't evil in this series.

Loved it! It lived up to the first one.

I'm often in the mood for a good origins story and this sequel to 'Maleficent' proved to be an excellent fit. Taking the misunderstood fey Maleficient and giving her a backstory and creatures just like her legitimized her as a character and leaves me hungry for a third installment (tales of a young Maleficent). The film is good enough to make me forget that I'm watching Angelina Jolie (still not one of my favorite film stars).

I absolutely loved this film! As it was so well done, I'm hopeful that there will be a 3rd.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, is the 2019 sequel to the 2014 film Maleficent that was rather forgettable. The movie is about Maleficent joining a group of outcasts to overthrow a cunning queen and save their home. Starring Angelina Jolie and Michelle Pfeiffer, this film really shoves these strong actresses in front of the screen but with a weak plot. The movie attempts to bring you back to the world building of the first, but loses it's appeal, coming across as plain and overdone. A big budget film that feels like it had more money than they knew what to do with, I likely will not be watching Maleficent: Mistress of Evil anytime soon. 2 Stars

Disappointing sequel. It tries to expand the Maleficent universe by introducing the "Dark Fey" type of fairy, but the whole plot starts falling apart quickly.
I am sure the final battle sounded good in concept, but it feels like cardboard (very fake).
When you consider that they had a USD $180 million budget ... makes me wonder, did they spend all the money in special effects?

It was exactly as expected....another crappy boring Disney flick with Angelina Jolie.
I expect a 3rd money-making installment in a couple of years.
The modern Disney.....Walt is rolling around in his grave.
