Shes never met the other wives. None of them know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, she can see her husband only one day a week. But she loves him so much she doesn't care. Or at least that's what she told herself. But one day, while she's doing laundry, she finds a scrap of paper in his pocket, an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and she knows it's another of the wives. She thought she was fine with her arrangement, but she can't help herself: she tracked her down, and, under false pretenses, she strikes up a friendship. Hannah has no idea who she is. Then, Hannah starts showing up to her coffee dates with telltale bruises, and she realize she's being abused by her husband. Who, of course, is also her husband. But shes never known him to be violent, ever. Who exactly is her husband, and how far would she go to find the truth? Would she risk her own life? And who is his mysterious third wife?

Should you decide to carry on with the plot, it gets significantly better. When things hit the fan, it really hits the fan. The mind games happening throughout the last half of the story is so well done that you're even left second guessing yourself.

This story kept me guessing. I was confused as to what was real for 80% of it. It was different from most "thrillers" I have read in the past, but the polygamist story line was interesting.

Ugh. The story became more and more far fetched. I decided it was along the lines of "Gone Girl" and somebody was delusional here. I ended up skimming about a third of the book. Not enjoyable, just very irritating. I just wanted to shake some sense into the narrator, Thursday.

This book kept me on my toes, I had these questions that were eventually answered and then just when I thought I understood everything - boom! I am actually surprised by the mixed reviews. I think once getting started on this book it is undoubtedly hard to put down, so love it or hate it you will still want to know what happens.

Quite disappointed in this book. It started off well but deteriorated into weirdness. I almost stopped reading it about 2/3's in. I have decided to avoid new books with the word girl or wife in the title as they tend to be disappointing.

Loved this book, it had me guessing until the very end. That says a lot considering how many thrillers I read! I love books I can’t put down, and this was one of them. Liked the ending way more than typical thriller endings. Fantastic, highly recommend.

Not caught up in the story line. Polygamy fascinates people. Ho hum.
Which is more common - severe mental illness or men wanting multiple partners or partners gaslighting their partners? Depends on what you label mental illness...

Quite a disappointment. Pushed my way through to the end since I bought it during the library closure. I guess that if it were 'free' I wouldn't mind the mind-numbing plot and characters.

Terrible. And the spelling mistakes... wow. That this found a publisher is stunning.
