Hazel Grace Lancaster, a sixteen years old cancer patient, is the narrator of the novel. The story revolves around this central character. Hazel is compelled by her parents to join a support group. She begins to attend that group. She meets Augustus Waters there. She falls in love with this seventeen years old boy. He happens to be an ex-basketball player. He is an amputee. The title of the novel has been inspired by a scene from "Julius Caesar," a play written by William Shakespeare. Cassius speaks this line to Brutus, "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars. . ."The novel has already been adapted into a movie. The film was directed by Josh Boone. It was a highly successful movie which was released on 6th of June, 2014
