The Heartbeats of Wing Jones is an amazing novel and it couldn’t have been written any better. Wing Jones has always wished that she could switch places with her brother, Marcus. After all, Marcus is the star of his football team and the most popular person at their high school. But, Wing is nothing like her brother. Then one night of impaired driving lands Marcus in the hospital and two others dead. Now, Marcus is known as a murderer and everyone is bullying Wing because she is his sister. Marcus is in a very long coma and Wing’s family is struggling to pay for his medical bills. When Wing can’t sleep one night, she finds herself running laps at her school track. Then she starts running every night, and suddenly she lands herself a spot on the school track team. This book was amazing, it had so much detail and it was actually a bit of a sad story. I loved the main character Wing, she was a great person but it is a little hard to believe that she was never good at running. I would recommend this book to anyone ages thirteen and older.
