The setting is so interesting. The whole thing is so good and suspenseful I would recommend this book to people 13 and older. It is very hard to read because it is so emotional and it just gets your heart racing. The end was a bit much. The way it was written so detaled I could picture it in my mind. Five stars. Amazing book.

This was a great book its a mystery book and is good if you like intelligence. Its about a girl that was separated from her family at night and her one brother and her father was on one side of a wall and herself her mother and her one brother was on the other side. They have to find a way to be together. They watch as there dad communicates something to them in the story and they have to find a way to get to the other side of the wall.
So I loved this book, Its a nerve racking book that I recommend you to read.

Great book! I read this aloud to my 8 year old who is very much into WWII right now. He kept begging me to keep going no matter how late it was at night. Very well written. So much discussion material. Nothing overly graphic but many tense moments. I highly recommend this book for young adults or adults of any age.

I didn't think I'd like this book because it was a random book I picked of the shelf. It was surprisingly good though and I would read it again. I really enjoyed the historical aspect and the determination of the characters.

Gerta's family is divided one night when the Berlin Wall goes up, but Gerta's courage enables her to find a way to the west. An exciting story that makes you appreciate the freedoms we have.
