Not the conclusion that I personally wanted from this trilogy, but a good read nonetheless.

My daughter is thirteen and Hunger Games is inappropiate for her to be reading. She is above average reading lexile in class. Her dad and me have begin to read her books before she does and make sure the plot is good morals. Not every recomended novel for sixth grader is written by kid friendly authors.

The last novel in the Hunger Games Trilogy called Mockingjay, puts the Capitol against the twelve districts. Once the districts realize that they have a new and powerful ally in District 13, they are much more willing to fight the Capitol's soldiers. Through her televised speeches, Katiness (the main character) convinces the districts that President Snow will never treat them fairly, making war the only option. This book is by far my favourite book in the Hunger Games series. It is filled with action and adventure. The author writes in such a way that makes you want to keep reading and never put the book down. It's very descriptive so you can really imagine the characters, the setting and feel like you're right there. I would recommend this book to kids over 13+ because of some violent scenes and mature theme. My rating is 5/5! @GymGirl of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I found this book to be less enjoyable than the previous two in the series. I found it more slow-moving, and at times a bit boring. I think the lead-up to the action felt a bit prolonged, although it did act to develop character values. With all that being said, I still would recommend this novel to other readers, as it gives completion to the series. There were still a lot of questions left to be answered, and this installment did a fantastic job at doing that. Looking back at all that Katniss has gone through, I really enjoyed seeing her development throughout the series. I think that her character transformed a lot in this book alone. There were a lot of difficult moments for her character in this novel, which allows readers to further build an emotional connection. @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

In the last book of the trilogy, Katniss, Peeta, and Gale face unpredictably dangerous circumstances as they stumble upon the forgotten District 13.

A rather slow conclusion to the thrilling trilogy that doesn’t match up to the previous books in the series. It didn’t meet my expectations but overall wasn’t a terrible final book.

The final installment of the Hunger Games Trilogy named; "The Mockingjay" continues where it's predecessor; "Catching Fire" leaves off. The overall plot of "The Mockingjay" focuses around the uprising of the rebellion founded by the lost and forgotten District 13 against the capital. After the abrupt end of the 75th Hunger Games; and the 3rd Quarter Quell, Katness Everdeen and her friends go against the capital and Snow, and save Peers Mellark, who became the capitals brainwashed spokesman. The book was written fantastically as per Suzanne Collins's usual; however in my opinion, the plot has faltered and went south from my actual expectations of the trilogy. The story has fallen away from the aspect of survival to a story of uprising. Granted, the events leading up to this story did eventually create the plot of "The Mockingjay" I believe the plot could have been tackled differently to achieve the same impact as it's current plot.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins is the last book in The Hunger Games trilogy and neatly ties up this exciting series. Katniss Everdeen has survived two Hunger Games and has been taken in by District 13. Her old home has been destroyed by the Capital, and she has unknowingly become the face of the rebellion against the Capital. The success of the rebellion and the course of the future relies on whether Katniss is willing to become a pawn again, and to accept responsibility for the rebellion, and the countless lives lost. To do so, she must put aside her distrust and person feeling, and become the Mockingjay. Though it has a bit of a slow start, the action quickly picks up, and Katniss is soon being her religious inspiring self. The book is filled with inspiring scenes and demonstrations of strength and sacrifice. I rate this book 4 stars because this book is a thrilling conclusion to the series, however, I think the conclusion does not match with Katniss’s personality and is only an easy way to tie everything up. However, I would definitely recommend it.

Okay, maybe I just didn't want this to end, but I had trouble with the conclusion. Still well worth the read.

But one day I'll have to explain about my nightmares. Why they came. Why they won't ever really go away. I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in anything because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years. But there are much worse games to play. - Page 390
