The Son of Neptune follows Percy, who, like Jason in The Lost Hero, has amnesia. Knowing nothing about himself or his past deeds, he wanders, constantly being chased by the same few monsters. He then finds a goddess who guides him to a camp of Roman demigods and explains that to have his memories returned to him, he must survive and become a hero. I feel that this book does a great job of expanding the universe and provides many new characters for readers to care for. I loved the similarities and differences between the Greek and Roman worlds. Making gods have Greek and Roman personas was clever, due to how similar Greek and Roman gods are. Ages 12+

Percy Jackson wakes up on a hill, confused and lost, with holes in his memories. He’s put into an environment that feels familiar, yet foreign. Though a bit different, he is helped along the way with his friends, Hazel and Frank. Together, they go on a quest, following a prophecy to find the lost lightning staff of the Romans. The pressure is real, to regain the dignity of the 4th battalion.
This is one of my all time favorite books. I’ve read it so many more times than I can count on my fingers. The second book of the Heroes of Olympus series, it’s comedic and educational, yet somehow alluring. Rick Riordan makes you sit at the edge of your seat, just waiting for the next action to happen. It’s a book that makes you see Greek mythology in another perspective, but at the same time showing other cultures.

This book was great! I found seeing how the Romans work were interesting. At first, in the Percy Jackson series, I didn't even know there was a Roman camp. I loved to see how the Romans did with Percy and what Percy experienced. The part about Nico going through both camps was great. I recommend this book to people who like to study history, this can be a fun way how to learn things.

I enjoy this book, though it is recommended that middle school-aged people read it. There were a few things that did bother me. (Mostly because I do study Gree/Roman Mythology) A great example of this would have to be when Percy mentions Gaea (Also spelled Gaia) in Camp Jupiter when her Roman name is Terra. It confused me because they were acknowledging the Roman God/Goddesses by their names and not their Greek counterpart names (Unless it was Percy who was suffering from Juno/Hera's amnesia game) Other than that I really enjoyed the story and how (Unlike Disney) Rick stuck towards the main Mythology of the Two Cultures.

I would Recommend this to others to read.

In The Son of Neptune we are reconnected with the beloved character Percy Jackson, and also introduced to a completely new camp and set of demigods that we all had no idea existed; including Percy and the greek demigods of Camp Half Blood. In mythology, Greek gods tend to have another part of their personality. Their Roman personas. The Roman and Greek demigods had been on separate sides of the United States with no knowledge of one another. Until now. Hera has taken two of the most influential demigods from each side and put them in the opposing camp in an attempt to create an alliance to defeat Gaea. But will it work?

SPOILER FREE- I don't know how some people don't like this book. BUT IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!! The second best in the Heroes of Olympus series and it is so good. Percy is back and as good as ever, though Frank and Hazel are not the best characters, but they are still pretty good. The plot and action are amazing, the only problem is Percy's amnesia(not a spoiler it is literately in the back of the book), as it is annoying at times. But in conclusion- IT IS A TREMENDOUS BOOK!

And he's back! After the set up and introduction of new characters in book 1, it's great to get back to Percy for book 2, while also meeting some more new characters and seeing the world that Rick Riordan created in the original series, grow and expand. He's taking Percy Jackson international, and it's only going to get better as Riordan brings together all of our favorite characters, both new and old, for even more adventure in book 3.

You haven't read The Son of Neptune! The book is great it has everything you could ever want in a book and that's why i gave this book a five star rating. The book draws you in to the point were you don't wanna stop reading till your done. The book also ends in a cliffhanger which makes people wanna come back for more and leaves us guess. The book is about a boy named Percy Jackson. The book starts off with him waking up not remembering nothing but the name Annabeth. The flow of the book was great at hitting every point for you to keep you reading. In the book he meets a camp of Roman demigods and goes to Alaska with his new friends Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang to free the Greek god of death, Thanatos and help save the world from Gaea, the earth goddess. The main theme of the story is friendship.Friendship is what drives the characters to act and it is what makes the characters capable of supreme sacrifices. The Son of Neptune is a great book and i highly recommend that you should definitely read the book

Rayna-"the point is Percy you are the real power on this quest. You are a seasoned veteran. I've seen what you can do. A son of Neptune wouldn't be my first choice, but if you return successfully from this mission, the legion might be saved. The prateorship will be yours for the taking. Together, you and I could expand the power of Rome. We could raise an army and find the doors of death, crush Gaea's forces once and for all. You would find me a very helpful...friend."
