I enjoyed this story; and I like Krueger's writing style.

A coming-of-age novel and so much more, both simple and deep as the Minnesota River, and the railroad tracks and country roads that flow about the action. Grace and miracles might seem hidden or inconsequential, or may resonate through the…

Very disappointing after reading reviews. Too much negativity, kept wanting just one good thing to happen, like gay young man goes off to school and finds himself instead of running into a tree. Found sex with old man a bit unbelievable.…

The comparisons to "To Kill A Mocking bird are a bit of a stretch in my opinion but It was a good read. As many others I felt "This Tender Land" was a better book.

This was one of the best books I've read in a long time. I love the way the author developed the characters, and his writing style was so poignant. Stylistically like To Kill a Mockingbird. You'll be thinking about the story long after…

Get ready to cry, laugh and pull your hair out. An excellent coming of age story.

Still one of my favorite books. More of a coming of age story than a murder mystery.

What I loved about this book: Set in 1960's, small town vibes of Minnesota, coming-of-age and a fantastic murder mystery.

Interesting account of a teenager in 1961 small town America. Slow moving.

I loved This Tender Land and read it twice; however, this book was a bit of a yawn. It is not something I will re-read.

"Ordinary Grace is really the story of what tragedy does to a man's faith, to his family, and ultimately, to the whole fabric of the small town in which he lives." Ordinary Grace tells the story of a 13-year-old boy's life during 1961. In…

I listened to this audiobook which was read beautifully. This story veers from his Cork O’Connor series and is a story of a boy’s life in the summer in the 1960’s. There is are many themes: physical barriers, the brokenness of the…

I enjoyed reading this book! There were times where the storyline moved slower than I would have liked. I appreciated in the end that the author gave us a present time update with all of the characters and what happened with them.

I just finished "The Tender Land" (amazing story/best book in awhile) so I wanted to read another one of his books. "Ordinary Grace" was good, a little slow at times, but the author has an amazing way of writing that keeps me interested.

I enjoy Krueger’s style. His This Tender Land was excellent. Ordinary Grace was good, but got bogged down in parts. Krueger has a strong interest in the treatment of the Souix from the Minnesota territories. I was thankful for his insight…
