Description

Newark Library is partnering with the Tri-Cities - Afro American Cultural & Historical Society (AACHS) for their annual Black History Month Program.  https://aachstricity.org/

This year the national theme is A Century of Black History Commemorations - recognizing Dr. Carter G. Woodson's founding of Negro History Week (now Black History Month) in 1926 and a century of celebrations.

The AACHS 51st Annual Black History Month Program will feature:

  • Guest Speakers
  • Isaiah Collier's "The Story of 400 Years" listening and reflection experience (2 sessions 12:30 & 2:30)
  • Educational Exhibits
  • Food to purchase & vendors on site

The Black History Month Program will take place Saturday, February 14, 12-4 pm in the gym at the City of Newark - Silliman Activity & Aquatic Center, 6800 Mowry Ave, Newark, CA 94560.
