EventsSewing Machine Lab

Sewing Machine Lab

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
San Lorenzo

Description

Have you ever wanted to play with a sewing machine? Do you need sewing machine access for a specific project you've been working on for a while? Bring your projects and your curiosity to sewing machine lab!

There will be no formal instruction, but a staff member will be present to show you how to thread the machine, wind bobbins, and do basic stitches. We will have scrap materials for you to practice on. If you bring your own project, please be self-directed!

We have 7 sewing machines. This program is first come, first serve. Starting at 5:45pm, you will be able to sign up at the front desk for a 30 minute slot. If you would like to bring your own machine to get some help with the basics, that is welcome, but please understand we cannot fix broken machines or troubleshoot problems for personal machines.

Members must be 12 years or older to participate in this program.

We at AC Library care about your privacy. None of our live programs are recorded.

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
