Description

The Property Transfer Clinic is a free one-on-one phone consultation with an attorney regarding real estate property in Alameda County. Clinics are held on the third Friday of each month.  Registration opens one month in advance of each clinic.  If you do not see any available appointments, check back after the third Friday of the month.

Topics covered by this clinic may include:

  • Alameda County assessment process
  • Holding title to property and its tax consequence
  • Transferring property to family members
  • Transferring property to a revocable trust
  • What happens to property after a death of a loved one
  • Common exclusions from reassessment

The Property Transfer Clinic is a partnership between the Alameda County Library, the Alameda County Law Library, and Legal Access Alameda; funded by the Alameda County Assessor's Office.
