Chinese Builders of the First Iron Road in Niles Canyon, with Victor Wong and Beyond Chinese Roots with Janet Barton.

Join us for these special presentations by local historians Janet Barton and Victor Wong. Hear newly unearthed personal stories of the lives and contributions of Chinese settlers in and around Niles from the 1800s. You'll learn about the building of the transcontinental railroad through Niles Canyon, to experiences working in vineyards, orchards, nurseries, and the salt and sugar industries.
