Checkmate! Join Golden Bay Chess for a monthly morning of strategy, creativity, and fun! Whether your child is a total beginner or looking to sharpen their skills, this program offers something for everyone.

Led by experienced youth instructors from Golden Bay Chess, this event includes free group lessons for all skill levels and specialized 1-on-1 tutoring for all young kids.

Children will build focus, patience, and problem-solving skills while enjoying the classic game of kings and queens. No prior experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to learn!

This program is for children ages 6 and up. No registration required, but space may be limited. Free tickets will be distributed in the children's area 15 minutes before the program at 10:45 AM.

Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests!

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
