Banned Books and Boba

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Centerville

Description

Drink boba and write postcards expressing your support for an end to book banning!

Banned Books Week is a celebration, but there's never been a more important time to get involved. The American Library Association (as well as groups like Unite Against Book Bans and PEN America) reported that public libraries saw a 92% increase in the number of titles targeted for censorship in the past few years.

Centerville Library is hosting this non-partisan event to encourage civic engagement in the fight against book bans. Registrants will receive postcards (with postage) to write to the recipient of their choosing off of our sample list, and a classic boba drink.

We're thrilled to have several authors joining us for this event! Stay tuned for more info!

-Space (and boba) is limited. Tickets will be passed out at 1:45pm on 10/11. Members can join as long as supplies last!
