Looking for somewhere for your fantasy roleplaying game needs? Come over to the Albany Library! We'll be running a campaign for you!
Q: What's a fantasy roleplaying game?
A: It's sort of like collective storytelling games. Everyone will have one character they'll take control of and together we'll imagine an adventure for our characters to go on - fighting monsters, escaping traps, saving people in distress, the whole thing! Over time, our characters' stories will become like a huge epic. Specifically, we're currently playing Dungeons and Dragons fifth edition, but we occasionally switch to other games and other systems.
Q: Do I need to have played before?
A: Not at all! We'll teach you the rules, and while you're welcome to bring your own character, pre-built characters will be provided to everyone. The story will build on itself over time, but anyone can show up in the middle and we'll get you right up to speed.
Q: Sounds great! What do I need to do?
A: Just show up! Every Tuesday at 3:45pm at the Albany Library. Ages 11 and over, please. We look forward to seeing you there!
Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests!
An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
