Read-a-thon: in every language

1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Newark

Description

To celebrate Día de Los Niños, we are hosting a drop-in read-a-thon and craft!

We will make a 'God's Eye' - a popsicle stick and yarn diamond craft. This craft can be used to decorate your home, or you can make them just for fun!

Here is how it works:

  1. You pick a book in any language. (We will have books from our collection available.)
  2. You get to read all or part of the book aloud to the audience in the Storytime Room.
  3. We will make the God's Eye craft.

We are looking for readers of all ages and all languages.

Help us break last year's record of 26 different languages!

If you want book suggestions, we recommend searching Lote4Kids on the library website.  There are books in over 50 languages.

We will have teen volunteers managing the program.

No need to preregister.  You can show up anytime 1:30 pm-3:00 pm.

Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least three business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
