This family-friendly, all-day event is a celebration of graphic novels, comics, and fandom of all flavors. We're pulling out all the stops - authors, artists, panels, workshops, music, a whole world of entertainment. This will be the library event of the season. Don't miss it!

11:30AM: Exploring Asian American Stories through Comics w/Katie Quan

Katie Quan (she/her) is a third-generation Chinese American comic artist and educator in San Francisco. In 2023, she was selected as a California Arts Council’s Individual Artist Fellow. As the founder of REALSOUL, a curriculum-based arts organization, Katie strives to make intersectional local histories accessible and relevant to elementary and middle school students. Follow her work at @katiequanart on Instagram.

1PM: Draw Chibi Superheroes w/Karen Luk
Karen Luk is a drawer of words, writer of images, and part-time instructor in the Bay Area, California. She creates manga-inspired comics. At state and national conferences, she has presented on manga origins, anime history, and comics as a storytelling medium. The Cartoon Art Museum and Google have exhibited her artwork. She has taught comic drawing workshops at museums and public libraries. She is a graduate of the California College of Art and located in San Jose, CA. Currently, she is developing a graphic novel and a crowdfunding campaign for her next illustration project.

3PM: Origami With Margo: Comics Edition

10AM: Jam On! Open jam session - try out a new instrument in a fun, communal environment - all experience levels welcome!

12PM: Kill the Protagonist - live band playing anime music.

1:30PM: Karaoke - you're the star! Open to all ages and abilities.

4PM: Yee Olde Dragon Master's Guide to the Mighty Labyrinth Quest

Yee Olde Dragon Master's Guide to the Mighty Labyrinth Quest is an interactive role-playing musical adventure, where you, the audience, control your own player character in a magical musical fantasy adventure where you must roll giant icosahedroidal dice! Featuring hoppits, hook horrors, elves, unicorns, and even a special appearance by Randolf the Wizard. Don't miss out on the action, the drama, the treasure! And remember to always look for traps and secret doors along your way in this mighty labyrinth adventure quest!
