A glimpse of Ohlone Culture

12:30 PM – 2:00 PM
Newark

Description

November is Native American Heritage Month. The first people to call the San Francisco Bay Area home are the more than two dozen tribes often called Ohlone.  Join us at the Newark Library to get a glimpse into Ohlone Culture.

Presented by East Bay Parks, this program introduces children to the Ohlone Tribe, their connection to the land & natural resources, and traditional skills. Using hands-on activities, children will explore artifacts and tools that Native People still use today.

For other library programming commemorating Native American Heritage Month, please check out our AC Library’s blog post

Ohlone Educator Resource also provides valuable information on the Ohlone Tribe.
